Visit The English City Of Newcastle

Newcastle has a rich and diverse history that will appeal to everyone. It offers a great mix of fun and historical significance. Alongside its modern attractions are architectural treasures and monuments. Some of the most famous attractions are listed below:
- Newcastle provides easy access (you can even see it in the distance from some parts of the city) to Hadrian’s Wall, which is one of the most famous structures in the UK. This structure was built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a frontier to mark the northern boundaries of the Roman Empire. Many fierce battles have taken place along this wall, which stretches right across the whole of northern England, as there were many attempted invasions by the Scots in years gone by.
- Grainger Town, which is located in central Newcastle, is home to Greys Street, which has previously been voted as the most beautiful street in the whole of Great Britain. You will also find more than four hundred listed buildings in the area, which means that the Government has granted them special status because of their historical and cultural significance. Most of these buildings look exactly the same now as did fifty-plus years ago, and walking around them is like taking a step back in time.
- Towering over Newcastle is a huge steel sculpture of an angel, which is aptly named the Angel of the North. Anyone visiting Newcastle cannot fail to see it, simply because it is visible from all around the city. For this reason, it is one of the most viewed pieces of art in the whole world, with more than thirty million people seeing it on an annual basis. It looks impressive all the time, but especially so at dusk and dawn, when the rising / falling sun really brings it to life.
Those are Newcastle’s main attractions, but it has much more to offer too. There are several museums, theaters, and shopping malls, and it is also home to a Premier League football club – Newcastle United. There is certainly more than enough to keep you and your family entertained!
