The United States Air Force museum is the national museum of the U. S. Air Force and is the world’s largest military flight museum. Its mission is to present the mission, history and evolving capabilities of the U. S. Air Force.

Explaining the history of flight, the Air Force museum is an attraction that is internationally well-known.

Featuring more than 300 aircraft, in addition to many aerospace vehicles in over 17 acres of indoor air and space exhibits, the museum gladly welcomes more than 1. 2 million visitors a year.

The museum features galleries that connect today’s Space Age all the way back to the Wright brothers era.

The museum employs sensory exhibits, to tell the Air Force story as well as educational programs and many special events.

The Air Force also observes its men and women, highlighting such virtues as duty, innovation, and courage.

The Air force museum is located in the town where the Wright brothers lived and invented the airplane; Dayton, Ohio.

The displays are housed in four massive hangars at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, located in Dayton. The museum, whenever in Dayton, is something you must see.

Even if you only have a slightly active interest in NASA, the military or aircraft, you will absolutely have a great time. A visitor who is very interested in aviation might easily consume two days roaming through the museum.

The price of the admission cannot be beat, because it is absolutely free.

There are all natures of airplanes to be seen, starting with the very first bi-planes, from every era in history.

To tell its stimulating story, the museum uses chronological and subjective layouts to depict years of aviation development.

Exhibits include various aircraft and missiles like the Stealth fighter, the X-15 (history’s highest and the fastest flying aircraft), and the Super SR-71 spy-plane.

The museum also has personal Air Force artifacts including memorabilia like uniforms and photographs among the thousands of items on display.

An exhibit devoted to Prisoner of War history is one of the most popular at the museum.

Everything from a homemade mousetrap to fitness exercise equipment made by prisoners in WWII prison camps is featured in this display.

Around the museum you can also see Harley-Davidson motorcycles, bugles and cooking utensils that were once used by the Air Force.

If the U. S. Air Force had ever used an Ibanez acoustic electric guitar or a 5 piece drum set, they would certainly have them here.

This excellent museum is an immensely interesting scene to visit and a wonderful experience for everyone in the family.
