CHEESE Gromit?
by admin on Nov.16, 2009, under Uncategorized
Now that you’ve had one of your family days out this year at the recent cheese festival in Cardiff, what famous cartoon characters would you expect to see there if of course they were real people?
Not Gromit but Wallace
Everyone must have heard of this British toon. This inventor from Lancashire has big ears to go along with his huge love for cheese. His personal cheese of choice, well it has to be Wensleydale.Of course the first time we laid eyes on the pair was way back in 1989 in the film A Grand Day Out in which the pair actually travel to the moon as they realise they have run out of the best food ever- cheese. Gromit, being the smarter of the two would have found it easier to go to the shops but of course he cannot talk at all being a dog.
The laughing cow (yes really)
Simply here because it has become a huge world wide sensation and is actually the oldest on the list as the original drawing for the product was drawn by the creator of the product in 1924 and was the first cheese product to actually be branded in France.
Jerry the mouse
This one is easily the most famous and the love of cheese comes simple as he is a mouse. Surely everyone knows what this one is about. The tense hatred that a cat and mouse have for eachother is really shown here via Tom and Jerry's never ending battle. Back in the days these cartoons used to contain comic violence but with the way the world is now have since been toned down in recent years.
So if you fancy yourself a bit of cheese why not go to a cheese festival and try a variety of cheeses. UK family holidays can be catered around all kinds of festivals from cheese all the way up to music.
Can cheese bring tourists in?

If your town is struggling with the ways in which they are at the moment then perhaps a good old fashioned cheese festival is what your town needs?. Cardiff has it down.?
This is due to the fact that Britain’s biggest cheese festival is here once a year. This year on the 26th and 27th of september one of the largest cheese festivals has just over 400 types of cheeses to try along with wines and ciders. Not only do you get the normal cow and goat cheese but also sheep as well as the strange Buffalo cheese.
Most people love cheese in soem form or another so how exactly is cheese made??
There are no real surprises when I say it is actually produced by the coagulation of the milk protein known as casein. How are all the different cheeses made to taste so different?? The diet of the animal you use is actually very important. Added to this mixture, wood smoke, spices and herbs can be used as flavouring agents.
In the making of some cheeses acids like lemon juice are used.. Cheeses have been used for many years for so many different things. It has proven useful against famines and is very good travel food as it tends to last for a long time as well as providing plenty of protein, fat and of course calcium. Cheese can last a lot longer than milk which is partly why it is so much more useful. It is very cheap to ship.
The cheese festival should actually be in within the grounds of Cardiff castle next year too so if you are interested why not take one of those nice family days out there and join in! UK family holidays is another way to experience Wales or any part of the United Kingdom if you are not into cheese.
Do not just vacation in London

London can be good because there arte so many things to do. A personal favourite is the O2 stadium as it is the best place to see huge artists from around the world so their thing the whole country. This is really only second to Wembley and may not even be second any more.
There are quite a few museums to enjoy in London. The top two have got to be Imperial War Museum and the British Museum.
Holding the crown jewels is just one thing the tower is famous for. Of course it is most famous for housing tortured prisoners of which some are still supposed to call the Tower their home.
Sure London has some of the top places to visit if you are coming to England, from Big Ben to the Waxworks but it also has the busy streets, and the feel of a world capital, which doesn’t tend to feel that good. Is London just somewhere to go on one of those family days out?
London is brilliant for someone coming over to see a bit of Britain’s famous history but show the current beauty of Britain, and that is of course, the countryside.
Wales is a nice place to see the real Britain. Of course cities such as Cardiff are busy but again that is one of Britain’s biggest cities, head just outside for a beautiful countryside stay in a cosey cottage. Wales has many more things to offer such as surfing, diving and golf. The Welsh have certain unique foods to try also. Salt marsh lamb, Welsh black cattle and farmhouse cheeses are just some that you should certainly try.
So if you are thinking about family holidays UK then instead of choosing London, Edinburgh or Dublin, why not give Wales a try?
