Did you know this about one of these Caribbean islands?

by admin on Feb.04, 2010, under Uncategorized

If you are looking for a holiday, this may just help to provide some useful (useless) information to help you decide, or at least you will have something to impress your mates with.

Antigua has become a big tourist resort but do you actually know what the word “Antigua” means? Antigua is a Spanish word and means Ancient, it received its name thanks to Columbus, who named it after a church in Santa Maria!

Barbados has a very rare national flower, but do you know what it is? This flower was thought to only grow on Barbados, and it is called the “Pride of Barbados” it is a form of Hibiscus flower.

St Lucia wasn’t always the luxury holiday location it is today, it was an island of war. This was an island of war with the French and the British fighting over it for many occasions earning its name “Helen”.

How many people do you think live on Jamaica, just a rough guess, and I bet that you get it completely wrong. Odds are that you are completely wrong, after all it is hard to guess anyway, but it more than 500,000 lets put it that way? Well, if you got this i would be surprised, it’s more like 3 million!

Cuba isn’t exactly how the western countries have depicted it. Bearing in mind the regime and all the restrictions set on this island, it is by far the most culturally diverse of all the Caribbean islands!

Tourists have been intoxicated by the beauty of this island, and it has become a very popular holiday destination. One thing you probably don’t know is that Grenada has an attribute much like that of Zanzibar, it is a Spice Isle. This island produces much of the spice in the whole of the Caribbean, including items like Nutmeg from mace.

Bermuda may be the place where planes and boats are rumored to go missing, but lets not talk about this. Everyone assumes that Bermuda is one island when in actual fact they couldn’t be more wrong, this “area” actually consists of 138 small islands and 1 main land.

So what do you think, inspired to try Caribbean holidays, with new knowledge you could try St Lucia holidays or Cuba holidays!

Why are all holidays for Christmas booked in September and October, but no later!

by admin on Nov.19, 2009, under Uncategorized

Have Christmas holidays already started to drop in bookings? These Christmas holidays are no longer as easy to book near Christmas as they have been in past years. Christmas time for the holiday’s district, sales reach a peak in September and October, then fall dramatically in November.

So what is the reason for these dramatic falls in holiday searches and bookings? If you want to try and get the Christmas holiday that you want, you should try and book in advance. Booking a Christmas holiday should take place a good few months before the 25th of December. Many don’t want to book holidays close to Christmas because it can be very stressful even just around Christmas time. Having to pile on the stress of booking a holiday just before Christmas can be annoying even for the most organised of people.

So the best option is to look at these holidays around September and the latest October, then to just forget about it. Not only are these holidays difficult for someone to find, but they are very popular and get booked fast. Cuba holidays or Egypt holidays are very difficult to arrange towards Christmas time. We all know that it isn’t easy to get the holiday you want around Christmas, because people book these holidays fast and early.

Barbados and St Lucia have also been popular this year, people have been trying to book holidays to these places in September, only to find they are all booked up. There are only a few select places around where you can still find holidays to Exotic and luxury locations still available. Many tour operators have had to cancel holidays that they have been offering, because they are already sold out.

Hopefully you have your Christmas holidays already booked, otherwise it could be very difficult to get one now, especially seeing as we are getting so close to the recession, and not to mention the deals were so good.
