London really has something for everyone, with sites that should interest the whole family. London is a great city with a lot of famous sites, but some in particular need to be visited.

No visit to London is complete without seeing the famous Tower of London. The Tower of London has an interesting history, as it has served as both a home and a prison for nobility.

Another great tourist site in London is St. Paul’s Cathedral. St. Paul’s was originally built in the 17th and 18th centuries. St. Paul’s is located on a hill, helping define London with the cathedral’s iconic dome. St. Paul’s was where Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married. This cathedral is not only beautiful outside, but the interior is truly magnificent and will not disappoint.

If you like the royal family, the Windsor Castle is a great place to visit in London. Windsor still houses royalty, as it has for centuries, as the Queen still makes it her permanent place of residence. Located near the Thames, Windsor is the oldest castle people still live in today. This castle was first ordered constructed by William the Conqueror during the 11th century. You should definitely visit Windsor Castle while you’re visiting London.

Of course, you should also take time out to visit Buckingham Palace. The residence of the British Monarch, many important state occasions occur within the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Many great works of art are also housed within the palace, including works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. Buckingham Palace is a great place to visit in London, England.

Top Selections for Paris

by admin on Dec.22, 2009, under Uncategorized

With so many things to do in the most romantic city in the world, how can you pick just one? Hopefully this guide will help give you an idea of just what sites in Paris should be on any tourist’s schedule.

My first suggestion to anyone traveling abroad is that the first item on your list of to-dos is that you should take a tour of the city. Besides, it’s a good idea to get a general grasp of how the city’s arranged before you begin moving about without anyone who actually knows Paris. I suggest that you stay in a hotel that you can pronounce the name of. These basic steps might really come in handy, just in case you get lost.

The first, most obvious choice is the Eiffel Tower.  Who wouldn’t love a view of the entire city of Paris?! The tower is open in the summer from 9:30AM until Midnight and during the winter from 10:00AM to 11:00PM every day of the week.

The Louvre is another obvious selection on any quick tour of Paris, especially for art lovers. There are over 35,000 pieces of artwork housed in this museum from prehistory to the nineteenth century.

For those interested in History, the Notre Dame Cathedral is another must-see attraction.  Unfortunately, there is limited mobility access in most places. It is free of charge to tour this ancient relic.

The largest public park in the nation, Luxembourg Gardens is a great destination for nature lovers. There are many statues, flowers, and fountains to catch the eye. Don’t worry about the kids, either, as the park also hosts a number of great attractions anyone can enjoy.

Paris Plage is the beach in Paris located on the Seine River. It is run by the city of Paris and each year new attractions are added. It is free to go to the beach but each individual attraction has its own admission price.
